I’ve always been artistic and creative. For as long as I can remember, I’ve loved the idea of giving Louis Vuitton bags a Western-inspired revamp. And in true me fashion, instead of waiting for someone else to make it, I decided I would just do it myself.

One night, I reworked a Louis Vuitton Petite Noé into a bag that fit my style. After carrying it for a while, I decided to list it on eBay. Four months later, it sold to someone in Colorado. That one sale sparked something in me:

“What if I started making more?”

What started as a single handbag has now grown into a business with loyal customers across the United States, as well as Canada, Mexico, and Australia.

My Journey of Motherhood & Resilience

My business is so deeply tied to my journey as a mom. When my son was just four months old, he had to undergo neurosurgery for craniosynostosis. It was one of the scariest times of my life. Just two weeks after his surgery, I found out I was pregnant again.

At first, I thought it was one baby, but soon I learned I was expecting twins. At only 29 weeks, my daughters made their entrance into the world and spent three long months in the NICU. Those days were filled with fear, exhaustion, and constant prayers—but also with gratitude for every little milestone they reached.

My son is now a sweet, loving mama’s boy with the kindest heart. My twin girls couldn’t be more different—Sutton is my tomboy with a girly streak, and Sienna is my total diva with a big personality. They are my everything. They’re the reason I push myself every single day to keep going, to work harder, and to be the best version of myself.

For me, The Southern Gypsy is so much more than just a business. It’s my way of providing for my family as a single mother and creating a life rooted in love, perseverance, and creativity. Every bag I design carries not just craftsmanship, but also the story of a woman determined to turn challenges into strength and dreams into reality.
